ALA 2011 Book Awards

caldecott-book.gifEach year the American Library Association (ALA) honors books and media for children and teens. The oldest and best known of the awards are the Caldecott Medal, for the most distinguished American picture book, and the Newbery Medal, given to the author for the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children. The 2011 winners include:
 

  • Moon over Manifest (Newbery Medal)
  • A Sick Day for Amos McGee (Caldecott Medal)
